About Miss Kindle

Welcome to 6th and 7th grade Science! I am so excited to share my love of science with you.
I was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School in 2013. (Fun fact: I was taught sixth grade science in my current classroom way back in 2006!) After graduation, I enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a certificate in Public Health. I am extremely passionate about science and science education.
After graduating from UT Austin, I spent the summer of 2017 camping in the Serengeti in Tanzania at a paleoanthropology and paleoecology field school at Olduvai Gorge. I spent four weeks excavating at sites between 1.3 and 2 million years old.
Though this is my first year teaching, I have grown up around education. My mother, Maurita Kindle, taught 3rd grade at Canton Intermediate for almost thirty years. My father, Casey Kindle, has taught multiple grade levels and subjects in Canton ISD since 2004. He currently teaches 4th grade science.
My hobbies include reading, traveling, learning, and spending time with my friends. My favorite TV show is Gilmore Girls and my favorite movie is The Godfather. I have one sister named Ashley who is 36, two nieces named Georgia and Hattie, and one nephew named Elliott.
I am also the Canton Junior High Cross Country coach! I ran cross country and track for Canton for six years and I am so excited to be able to impact students outside of the classroom as well.
