About Ms. Chenoweth (Mrs. Laster)

Hello! My name is Mrs. Laster (formerly Ms. Chenoweth). I am going into my third year as Head Junior High Band Director at Canton Junior High School and this is my overall fourth year of teaching. I recently got married (July 2024) and my husband and I have a golden doodle named Jax and three cats, Finn, Phoebe, and Sadie. I attended college at Stephen F. Austin State University and earned my Bachelor's degree in Music Education.

 

I teach 6th Grade Beginner Band Brass classes, 7th & 8th Grade Honor Band, and I also assist with the high school bands. My daily schedule is as follows:

 

1st period: Beginner Trumpet

2nd-3rd period: Assisting the High School Band

4th period: Conference (10:35am-11:20am)

5th period: Lunch

6th period: Beginner Low Brass

7th period: Beginner French Horn

8th period: 7th and 8th Grade Band

9th period: Beginner Brass, and 7th and 8th Grade Beginners
