Tammy Dickerson is the May Employee of the Month for Canton Junior High School

Mrs. Dickerson is the Receptionist/Attendance Clerk at Canton Junior High School. She attended Wills Point High School in Wills Point, Texas. She is married to Jay Dickerson and has two children, Ashlyn and Jeremy. Hobbies that Mrs. Dickerson enjoys are reading and spending as much time with family as possible.
Mrs. Dickerson has been employed with Canton ISD for 9 years. What she enjoys about her job the most is the constant motion and that it is never the same from day to day. She says it is a lot like Motherhood, I am a caretaker, solution solver and always expected to know all things.
Mr. Tracy, Canton Junoir High Principal adds that Mrs. Dickerson is an asset to our campus. She is willing to help beyond any outlined responsibilities going above and beyond for our campus and our kids. She is very organized, professional, and spreads her positive attitude to all she engages.

Principal's Message

Fellow Canton Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I pass on the devastating news that our Canton ISD Family experienced a tragic loss on Saturday.  Mr. Justin Collier, Canton Junior High Science Teacher, and his wife Tabbatha lost their lives this past Saturday in a tragic automobile accident in the Como area.
In this very difficult time collective guidance and support for our students will be our top priority as we close out the school year.  You know your student best, please spend time with them regarding this sensitive event helping them to work through any emotions they may experience.  We plan to address our students upon arrival in a brief Monday morning assembly. All staff will be on hand and prepared as well as additional district and Region 10 counselors to assist any students through the difficult time.  Students will be provided an opportunity to express emotion and perhaps reach a degree of closure through personal notes they may leave regarding Mr. Collier. Students, staff, as well as community are invited to pen something to be collected here at the Junior High or email Mr. Collier’s email which will remain available through July 31st. All notes will be organized and given to his family in his memory.  We also plan to adorn all eighth grade students with a ribbon in his honor during the Eighth grade promotion ceremony.
In the morning assembly we will inform students of our loss, share the counseling resources available for them, share our plan to honor Mr. Collier and his family in addition to which classroom to report to in lieu of his.  After the assembly students will report to the traditionally planned activities including the Incentive Field Trip to Urban Air.
All previously planned activities for the week will continue in an effort to not only finish the school year strong but also assist in any grieving process through traditional routines with additional support.  If you have any specific questions or concerns regarding this week please don’t hesitate to call.  Below is our week at a glance:
5/21 - School Incentive trip
5/22 - Choir Six Flags Field Trip
5/23 - 8th grade ART Field Trip to the Zoo
5/24 - 8th grade Promotion Ceremony at 6:30 Larry Davis Auditorium
5/25 - 6th and 7th Grade Awards Ceremonies
6th grade at 8:30
7th grade at 9:30
5/25 - Report Cards and Early Release
The last day of school (5/25) students will be released by 1:10pm to go home for the summer, please make the necessary transportation arrangements.
Thank you for your continued support as we work through a difficult time,
Henry C. Tracy III
Principal - Canton Junior High
