About Mrs. Meagan Benedict

Welcome back to school! If you are going to be in one of my classes this year, I am very excited to meet you. 

 

My education is in Vocal Performance from Texas Wesleyan University. I have been teaching for a total of seven years. I am married to Colt Benedict and we have two little girls, Charlotte and Molly. We will be welcoming our 3rd daughter, as well, in December.

 

In 7th grade English, we will be diving into essay writing, as well as, continuing your vocabulary and grammar skills. Now that Reading and writing classes are combined we will also focus on the reading TEKS as well including things like plot development, literary genres, and chapter book discussions. Come each day ready to dive in, make something new and build on ideas from the last lesson. I look forward to using our imagination to create great literature and bring a new freshness to your views of reading and writing skills.

 

In my Theatre classes, we will focus on an over arch of theatre appreciation, which includes some history, sound/lighting practice, stage makeup, and much more. My biggest goal for you all this year is to build confidence in yourself. Not everyone has to be front and center stage! If that is your thing, then great. We are all made differently for a bigger purpose and I intent to help you on your journey.

 

My class schedule is the same every day (with the exception of a half day or pep-rally days) and you can reach out to me during my conference period by phone. I prefer contact through email or the Remind App and I will send most messages out to parents through Remind as well.
