All About Mrs. Kinsey

Welcome to 8th grade English, Language Arts, and Reading. I am Elizabeth Kinsey and beyond excited to start my second year at Canton JH (my family moved from Fort Worth in May of 2024). My family and I feel blessed to be a part of the Eagle Community.

 

I am a 6th generation East Texan who was born and raised in White Oak, Texas. Upon graduating high school in 1999, I moved to Dallas to attend university. I graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2003 with a major in English Literature and minor in History. Since graduation, I have lived, taught and coached in big city/urban school districts across the United States. Early in my career, I taught at Dallas ISD and Leander ISD. Then is 2006, I moved to Illinois and worked for Champaign Unit 4 Schools and Peoria #52 School District, In 2018 I moved back to Texas (because Texas will always have my heart) and educated students in Fort Worth ISD, Crowley ISD and Arlington ISD. I have been in education for 17 years as a middle school and high school ELAR teacher as well as a Reading Interventionist.

 

My husband Bobby, a mechanical engineer at Epiroc in Garland, Bear (13), and Eli (11) are excited to continue our journey as Canton Eagles during the 2025-2026 school year.
