About Mrs. Shanks

Hi! I'm Mrs. Shanks, and I'm so excited to be back in my hometown!

This is my third year teaching art, and I love seeing the creativity each student brings to the classroom. My goal is to create a positive environment where every student feels safe to take creative risks, learn from mistakes, and celebrate what makes them unique. I believe art should be fun, meaningful, and a place where every student can shine.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, shopping, working on my event business, and finding inspiration in everyday life. I grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School, so it is truly an honor to return as a teacher. I hope to inspire my students with the same encouragement, creativity, and positivity that my teachers shared with me when I was a student here.

I recently married my husband, Daniel Shanks, and our little family includes our two-year-old daughter, Bailey, and our dog, Paris, who are the best of friends!

I can't wait to see all the amazing creativity this year has in store. It's going to be a wonderful year!
